Competence Development Program in Chad (Tier 3 Update)
Humanoid commenced a comprehensive multi-tier competence development programme for Chadian employees at a national refinery operation in Chad. The programme was specifically designed to build local operational capability through a structured, progressive learning approach that combines classroom learning, workshop practice, and real field exposure.
The programme is structured across three tiers, each building upon the previous:
Tier 1 focused on Basic Industry and HSE Foundation, providing participants with essential knowledge of the oil and gas industry, health, safety, and environmental principles, and the fundamentals of refinery operations. This classroom-based phase established the theoretical groundwork necessary for more advanced learning.
Tier 2 introduced specialised technical units combined with hands-on workshop practices. Participants engaged in practical exercises using equipment and systems relevant to their operational roles, developing the psychomotor skills and applied knowledge needed for competent performance in the workplace.
Tier 3, the most critical phase, provided real field experiences and direct exposure to live operations. Under close supervision, participants were attached to operating units within the refinery, working alongside experienced operators and applying the knowledge and skills acquired during the first two tiers in a real operational environment.
The delivery approach was carefully adapted to local conditions, taking into account language considerations, cultural context, and the specific operational requirements of the facility. Humanoid deployed experienced trainers with relevant downstream operations expertise to ensure the training was practical, relevant, and immediately applicable.
