BTEC Assessor Program for Iraqis (EJADA Project)
Humanoid, in collaboration with INSTEP, successfully delivered an intensive 10-day BTEC Assessor Training and Certification Programme for 18 Iraqi participants from the EJADA Project in October 2019. The EJADA Project is a significant initiative aimed at developing local competence assessment capability in Iraq's energy sector.
The programme was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to conduct competent workplace assessments in accordance with Pearson BTEC standards. Over the 10 days, participants covered topics including assessment principles, planning and conducting assessments, making assessment judgments, providing feedback, and maintaining assessment records.
A key component of the programme was the hands-on practical element, where participants conducted practice assessments and compiled evidence portfolios demonstrating their competence as assessors. Each participant was required to provide evidence of assessing learners against approved units, ensuring they could demonstrate real-world assessment capability.
The successful completion of this programme represents a significant step forward in building local assessment capacity in Iraq, reducing the dependency on external assessors and enabling more sustainable competence development programmes in the region.
